Through meditation, journaling, song, dance, art, and prayer, we move through the four phases to free ourselves from fear, negativity, anger, guilt and shame—allowing us to connect with the Inner Light of Pure Love within ourselves and others.”
Reflections: Ministry and Counsel offers:
A Poem by Thomas McGrath:
How could I have come for far?
(And always on such dark trails?)
I must have travelled by the light
Shining from the faces of all those I have loved.
The poet sees that he has travelled not by the light from the faces of those who love him but by the light from the faces of those he has loved. One hopes that these faces are one and the same. However, in an interesting turn of phrasing, the poet suggests that his love has stimulated the light in others’ faces. There is an unintentional reciprocity in our love.
We are accustomed to crediting the guidance from the love light that others give us. McGrath reminds us that the love we give contributes to that light.
Reflect on the light that your love has stimulated in others.
